Kinja'd!!!

This is a bad car photo because it’s not at a long focal length.

This thing was freakin’ mint. Seems in better shape than when I last saw it three years ago.

I have no idea what these are but they look cool!

UPDATE: !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! And because Americans are assholes, that’s about $36k USD.

I’m no  FJ fella but those look like latches to hold the windshield down. Purty vehicle anyhow.

I figured but also didn’t want to get insulted on the internet again.

That is an FJ45, curious why they have old Tacoma rims on it, I think that’s what they are.

I like it but don’t like the bedliner or gravel guard thing going on.

I saw a Brazilian market extended cab FJ pickup once. It was gloriously weird. Where was that one imported from?

It may be because the original rims were split rims? I know the old Patrol my family had came with those which of course work very poorly with anything other  than a tube type tire

My dad has an FJ40 and it doesn’t have split rims, they are steelies with caps .

Kinja'd!!!

It could be they don’t care and the rim size has more tires for less money. I have split rims on my Dodge M37, some people weld the old centers into modern wheels but that’s not cheap.

They sold them in the USA and Canada from 63 to 67.

I didn't know that. I've only seen regular convertibles and hardtops besides that one Brasilian market extended cab truck I saw.

They are rare, I’m sure the pickup market was tough for them and the regular FJ40 was a totally different kind of vehicle.

The pickup market was much more competitive with well established players with probably more refinement. They didn't make the most sense at the time.

I’ve seen some that were imported from Oz so the ones sold here must be unobtanium.

That makes the LHD Brazilian market extended cabs more appealing even if the build quality might not live up to its reputation. They're pretty cool but it wouldn't be even my fifth choice if I wanted a truck to do truck stuff.

I love a 45, That box was classic and I wish they would bring back external tie down hooks.

Well too bad they actually used them for work in Australia, my friend says most of the ones you find there are beat to hell. The 45s are rare and prices sky high.
